Cloud administration and cloud security are the same job seen from two sides. This programme combines the Azure Administrator (AZ-104) and Cloud and AI Security Engineer (SC-500) learning paths so that you learn to build an Azure environment and to secure it in one connected journey.
You begin with identity, governance, networking, compute and storage, then move on to Microsoft Entra security, Privileged Identity Management, network protection, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud and security operations. Every module ends in a lab that uses the previous module's environment.

Updated outline: Microsoft retired exam AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer) on 31 August 2026. The security half of this programme now prepares you for its successor, SC-500, which adds the security of AI workloads to the Azure security skills.

Yes. They are two separate Microsoft exams. This programme prepares you for both skill sets.
What happened to AZ-500?
Microsoft retired AZ-500 on 31 August 2026. SC-500 is its successor and also covers securing AI workloads, so the course now includes those topics.
Is AZ-104 a prerequisite for SC-500?
Microsoft does not require it, but AZ-104 skills make the security exam much easier, which is why they are taught together.
